THAT is the sound of our figurative production train.
Yan Ding, a journalist major fresh from China met with Ghil and I today. She's a graduate student here at UIC and does translations of research for one of her professors. She has agreed to voluntarily translate the Chinese portions of the script. An appreciated filmlanthropist.
Ghil has a new apartment, a very cozy first floor loft up by Devon and Clark. Not to mention a perfect location for the host family scenes. As far as other locations, we have brainstormed a comfortable amount to scout Saturday. Eddie told me of an interesting classroom at Malcolm X College that he will inquire more about. I am starting to love filmlanthropists.
Casting is going to be a large muddy elephant to wash (did I just invent a phrase?). I am working on an improved casting call sheet that we will use to post at bullitens at UIC, DePaul, Flashpoint, Columbia, Art Institute, Malcolm X, local theatres, and other places where potential actors/actresses may be. Also in our equation is experimentation with the MySpace casting that I have heard several rumors about. We do have a couple very good potential leads already, which is terrific.
The prospectus should be up soon, we are just waiting on one more headshot for our crew biographies. Then you can read (and glance) all about us :)
Still looking to shoot in early August.
